BIIIIGGGG YAAAAAWN!!!

I'm beat.  Today was an action-packed day and it seems like I really didn't get a whole lot done.

My boy, Austen, had two soccer games which hubby took him to.  Austen said he played well.  While he played soccer I had a tennis match.  Won the match, although we tried to give the first set away... I just really had a hard time focusing... PMS sucks!

Came home and went to put some really cool, antique quilt squares up in my office and was surprised to find that Hubs had put up adjustable shelves in my closet... He rocks :)  I started re-organizing and then caught a whiff of my sweaty, smelly self and went and took a shower.  By the time I was finished with that Darren and the kids were back from Austen's game and he side-tracked me for a bit with a short nap.  He slept.  I tossed and turned because my legs were freaking killing me.

When he finally decided to get up I followed suit and went back to work in my office.  Right now, I am in the process of sorting through several bins of kid memorabilia... report cards, awards, drawings, baggies with clippings from first haircuts... I think you get the idea.

I ran across some pics of my father-in-law who passed away 4 years ago and oh my, I miss him  so much.  I showed my youngest a picture of him and he didn't know who he was.  Jackson was not yet two when Dad died.  It breaks my heart that he will never know his Pop-Pop and I think we need to do something to remedy that.  Not sure what yet, but something.

With a little hard work I hope to get a few tops sewn tomorrow.  But, with how I'm feeling now I'm not really sure what tomorrow holds.

Today I woke up exhausted from a week full of tennis, kids, soccer, trying to get my office organized, cutting out quilts and the list seems to go on and on...

My hubby dropped the kiddos off at school and I was able to sleep in for another, very much needed, two hours.

When I woke up at 9:30 I decided to watch the men's semi-final of the Australian open.  It was a good match between two players I really don't care about:  Andy Murray and Novak Djokavic.  Djokavic won in the 5th set.   Being that I really didn't care about the out come of the match, I decided to embellish the purple/green/dragonfly/ patchwork baby blanket with some embroidery.  Just did a simple quilting stitch of a couple of dragonfly's and some flowers on the solid squares.  The really needed something and I think it turned out great.  I need to add some minky to make it just a tad bigger on the sides.

I meant to take pictures of the dragonfly blankie today, but by the time I finished the embroidery it was time to clean the house up for the weekend.  The younger three boys did a really good job of cleaning up knowing that once they finished they would be allowed to play "Skylanders" on the Wii.  When my oldest came home, he however, did not want to get with the program.  He picked fights with each of his brothers and even tried to get mouthy with me... grrrrrrr... the joy of having a 13 year-old son!

Once the hubby came home we were off to my best-friend's son's birthday party.  The kids had way too much fun and got in plenty of trouble, while me and Angie spent a lot of the evening re-organizing most of her mom's fabric.  Her mom has some beautiful quilt tops, blocks and pieces that are all hand-stitched and we aren't exactly sure how old they  really are.  Then there's the regular fabric... she has some really cool stuff.

I ended up back home by 10:30 and spent a couple of hours playing WoW with my hubby, checked Facebook to see how my God-daughter's soccer game went (it mustn't have been good) and now, here I am... blogging before bed.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day:  tennis match in the morning, soccer games in the morning, a child having a sleep-over and somewhere in there I want to get some quilt tops sewn... hmmmm... I guess we will see what happens :)

Let's see... Started the day not wanting to get out of bed after only getting 5 hours of sleep. Managed to get moving and the kiddos off to school with little hassle! Woohoo!

Went with my bestie to go play tennis with a couple of friends at 9. By the time I got home it was close to 1 and I had successfully killed most of my "work" day. By the time I got settled, it was time to pick up the kiddos from school... Then snack... Then homework...

In the mean time,  I was finally was able to finish my first quilt top that I intend on selling. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm trying not to be too critical... trying is the operative term.
I will post a picture tomorrow :)

The prospect of starting this quilting/nursery bedding business is daunting.  There is lots and lots of competition and so many choices to make.  My entire family is very supportive and that's great.  But, the normally confident and competent, Jenny, is nervous and scared... I don't want to let them down... I don't want to fail.

I truly hope I can make a go of this because there is nothing better than sewing that top today knowing I am doing something I love that could possibly help my family.
